The North Jersey Feral Cat Coalition is dedicated to humanely managing and improving the lives of feral cat populations through comprehensive Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) services. We empower local colony caretakers with resources, education, and support to effectively care for feral cat communities across Northern New Jersey.
Through our trap lending program, food assistance, and adoption services for socialized cats, we work to reduce feral cat populations while ensuring better lives for those who remain.
Our community-based approach creates lasting solutions to address cat overpopulation and minimize suffering among our region’s free-roaming felines.

What are feral cat colonies?
Feral cat colonies develop when unaltered cats gather in areas with available food and shelter. Unlike stray cats, ferals are unsocialized to humans and have lived their entire lives outdoors. Without management, these colonies can grow rapidly – a single female cat and her offspring can produce over 100 cats in just a few years. Through TNR and proper colony care, we can stabilize these populations, improve the cats’ health, and create harmony between feral cats and their human neighbors.
